Go for gold with
customised MacBook Pro
Apple MacBook enthusiasts
can now add extra sparkle to their laptop computers.
Computer Choppers has unveiled their latest design for a 24-carat gold-plated
MacBook Pro laptop, which also includes matching gold paint for the track pad
and keyboard and re-engraving the computer keys.
According to the electronics customisation company, it costs between $1,200 and
$1,500 (£600 to £750) to install a 24-carat gold plate on a MacBook Pro laptop,
although the cost can vary depending on the current market price of gold.
Serious customisation enthusiasts can also have Computer Choppers change the
glowing Apple logo on the back of the laptop to any logo design of their choice
with a combination of gemstones and precious metals.
The company estimates that the process of gold-plating a Macbook Pro laptop
should take two to four weeks for a single order.
Oregon-based Computer Choppers have been offering laptop, television and other
electronic modifications since 2003.
The company anticipates that its next customisation project will be based around
the 24-inch aluminium iMac computer.
