Today we are going to have a
look at another label that gets bandied around a bit, and that is the "gold
digger".
The gold digger is the
unkind name given to a woman who specifically seeks to date a wealthy,
financially successful man. Once again, these types of label are really
unfriendly and do not help people find their ideal partner at all.
Lets have a look at reality.
We live in a diverse world, a world where there are people who strive and are
successful in a million variations of existance. The very definition of
"success" changes as it is thought about by every unique person. One of these
existances is the reality of abundance, of the wealthy. Such a reality has its
own pressures, its own ups and downs. Just have a look at any gossip column if
you think people who live in opulance live a totally charmed life. The reality
is starkly different.
This is not a lifestyle for
everyone. I know, the invasion of privacy a celebrity faces everyday would drive
me insane in about one week. Further, I'd prefer a fullfilling life with my
family than give the priority and commitment to career that many of the wealthy
have. But this is just me. In our amazing world of difference and variety, there
are people who can only exist with the benefits... and pressures, ups and downs,
of such an existance. Living in such a reality is what brings out the best in
them and is the reality where they can be "whole".
So why is it, that when
someone understands themself, knows that this type of lifestyle is the one they
need to be the best person they can be and goes out to find a partner who has a
similar view on life, they are labelled a "gold digger". Its just silly. Once
again, it seems people label other people based on another type of intolerance.
If you are being honest with
yourself, if you know what you need to be the best person you can be, just go
